K2+D3 with 2 Vitamin K2+D3 Test 6 mth Subscription
An anti-age vitamin that promotes healthy bones and blood vessels
Clinical studies show that our bodies need a daily intake of at least 180 micrograms to achieve maximal beneficial effect. K2+D3 therefore contains 200 mcg, and 40 mcg vitamin D3 in each daily dosage 1 capsule.
Who needs vitamin K2?
The research results published over the past decade demonstrate that vitamin K2 is an important contributor to the development of bone substance while growing up, it helps us to have strong bones through a normal life and reduces the risk of becomeing osteoporotic. In addition, there is evidence that a regular intake of vitamin K2 helps to keep the blood vessels flexible – which in turn reduces the risk of developing hypertension and cardiovascular or circulatory diseases.
Vitamin K2 Test now also includes Vitamin D3 Test results!
With the help of a simple self-administered device, you can quickly receive your serum-concentration of vitamin K2 (MK7) and vitamin D3 level (25-OHvitaminD3). The vitamin K2 “concentration-number” in your blood gives you an indication of your relative risk to develop cardiovascular diseases and/or weak bones. In turn, 25-OHvitaminD3 is a metabolite of vitamin D3, which is considered the best indicator of vitamin D status in the body.
Obtaining Pure Arctic Oil + Vitamin K2+D3 together gives you optimal health benefits!
The blood sample collected on the filter paper in the K2+D3-test device will be extracted and analysed according to international standards for vitamin K2+D3 testing by Vitas AS Laboratory in Oslo, Norway.
This 6 mth. subscription contains 2 Vitamin K2+D3 Test (delivered in your 1st and 5th subscription month) – for you who want also your first Vitamin K2+D3 Test sent to you.
Your results will be available on omegaratiotest.com/en after 25 – 30 business days.
IMPORTANT: This is a 6 months binding subscription. Starting month 2 you will receive 1 of our K2+D3 for only 28 EUR + shipping & handling. Vitamin K2
Menaquinone-7 is a new and interesting vitamin, that is getting a lot of attention among researchers – both in terms of bone health and cardiovascular health. This type of vitamin K belongs to the vitamin K2-group, and differs from the better known vitamin K1 with it’s better bioavailability – in other words it is more efficiently absorbed into the circulatory system, and is thus easier to distribute to all the tissues where it is needed, such as bone and blood vessels.
Vitamin K’s effects show themselves in that the vitamin plays a part in the enzymatic activation of specialized proteins that are needed for optimal physiological and biochemical processes. The most known of these is the activation of several coagulation factors – a necessary activation for the blood to be able to coagulate when needed. For this reason everyone needs a minimum amount of vitamin K to survive. A healthy diet containing i.a. green vegetables will provide us with vitamin K1.
Vitamin K’s effects are manifested through the vitamin’s action as an auxiliary factor of enzymatic activation of several specialized proteins essential for optimal physiological and biochemical processes. Most notable is the activation of several coagulation factors – necessary to clot blood and stop bleedings. This is the reason why everybody needs a minimum amount of vitamin K in order to survive. Through a healthy diet – including green vegetables – we get vitamin K1.
Vitamin K2, on the other hand, is hard to find in the Western diet because the vitamin is made by the “good” bacteria used in the fermentation of certain foods. Such foods are unfortunately too scarce in our diet, unlike in some Asian countries where you commonly find the dish natto. This dish contains high amount of vitamin K2 and is classified as a health food in Japan.
The most exciting field of study at this time around vitamin K2 is the effects on the cardiovascular system.
The focus of the studies is on how vitamin K2 contributes to the activation of a protein; the matrix gla protein (MGP). MGP is the so far best known and most efficient natural inhibitor for arterial calcification – or atherosclerosis. More research is still needed for documenting that atherosclerosis can really be affected, or that it is likely be reduced or perhaps even reversed if external influences and diet are changed. The earlier understanding was that atherosclerosis was irreversible – in other words once the arterial calcification had begun, the process could not be stopped or turned around to any notable degree.
So far, Vitamin K is best documented in relation to bone health. Decreased bone mass and bone strength may lead to bone fractures. This is why it is important to dedicate special attention to the vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for maintaining healthy bone structure. Vitamin K contributes to:
- Normal blood coagulation;
- The upkeep of normal bone health.
Vitamin D3
Although vitamin D is commonly called a vitamin, it is not really an essential vitamin since it can be produced in the skin by sun exposure. In many countries, the high and prolonged sun exposure and content in food can be sufficient. However, there is no international recommendations for how much tanning one should subject oneself to in order to achieve adequate vitamin D levels in the body. The disadvantage of intense sun exposure may cause an increased risk of skin cancer, hence the ongoing discussion amongst scientists concerning the use of solariums and sunscreens. This makes supplements a good option for maintaining the levels of vitamin D3.
Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) is the form of vitamin D formed by sunlight exposure. This form is converted in the liver to the biologically active 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D. Vitamin D3 contributes to:
- Normal absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus;
- Maintaining normal bone health;
- Maintaining normal teeth;
- Maintaining normal muscular function;
- Normal function of the immune system;
- The vitamin plays a part in cellular division.
Good to know
- Dietary supplements are not to be used as a substitute for a varied diet;
- Store dry, at 15 – 25°C, out of direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children;
- Produced in accordance with GMP standards.
Vitamin K2+D3 Test
This analysis measures serum-concentration levels of vitamin K2 (MK7) in the bloodstream. The concentration-number provides an indication of the relative risk to subsequently develop cardiovascular diseases, weakness in the bones.
The recommended serum-concentration level of vitamin K2 (MK7) in the bloodstream is 5.0 ng/mL or above. A level below 2.0 ng/mL indicates there an elevated risk of developing osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
Research shows* that vitamin K2 inhibits the development of osteoporosis and arterial stiffness. Vitamin K2 facilitates the binding of calcium to the bone matrix and secures the maintenance of strong and healthy bones. Moreover, vitamin K2 facilitates the processes necessary to remove calcium from atherosclerotic plaques and damaged areas in the inner surface of the arterial wall. Maintaining a sufficient serum-concentration level of vitamin K2 is therefore important to protect bone structures and cardiovascular health.
We have designed K2+D3 to ensure a stable serum-concentration level above the recommended 5.0 ng/mL. By consuming the recommended daily dosage on a regular basis, the risk of osteoporosis and cardiovascular events should be reduced by approximately 50%.
Vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin with several important functions in the body, mostly related to promoting transport of calcium in the gut and in other organs. In addition, vitamin D is important for synthesis of many proteins related to bone growth, immune function. Vitamin D is only found in a few types of food like fatty fish and cod liver oil. Some foods are also fortified with vitamin D3 like certain fish oils, margarines, butter and certain types of milk. Often the fortification with vitamin D3 is too small to be of practical relevance; information can be obtained by reading the declaration on the product wrapping. Another option is to take food supplements in the recommended dosages of 10 – 20 microg/day, or even up to 70 microg/day, depending on the circumstances.
