How to correctly calculate your daily dosage of omega-3?
You often ask us: How much Pure Arctic Oil and Pure Vegan Oil should I take daily? How much Pure Arctic Oil For Kids should I give my children? We decided to dispel all doubts in this article.
Most health organizations agree that adults need 250–500 mg of EPA and DHA to maintain overall health. In turn, the American Heart Association recommends that people with special medical conditions, namely coronary heart disease, take 1000 mg of combined EPA and DHA daily. Due to European Union Health Claims, the EPA and DHA contribute to the heart’s normal function with a daily intake of 250 mg EPA and DHA. Additionally, DHA contributes to maintaining normal brain function and normal vision with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA.
Here at Eqology, we advise taking 0.15 ml per 1 kg of body weight, where 1 ml contains even 142 mg of total DHA and EPA. In the case of Pure Arctic Oil for adults, we recommend a double dose during the first month to accelerate the benefits and positive effects on health.
For example, if your weight is 70 kg, you need to take 70 * 0.15 = 10.5 ml per day, which means a little less than a dessert spoon.
In the table below, we have prepared an example of omega-3 intake in millilitres based on your weight. We also included approximate spoon sizes for reference, where we assume that teaspoon (tsp.) contains 5 ml, dessertspoon (dstspn.) – 12 ml and a tablespoon (tbsp.) – 15 ml. Feel free to use it when you have any uncertainties about your daily dosage.
